TIPS:

1. Should you, decide to do your own packing, start well in advance of the moving day. This avoids last minute rushing which may cause you stress or to forget other important details.


2. Decide what you will be moving-discard unused items so you can keep your moving cost down.


3. Make a list of all packing supplies you will need, such as boxes, bubble wrap, and tape. Recommended box size for packing is 2 cubic ft. and designed to hold up to 50 Lb of load.


4. Disassemble all items that must be moved in pieces. For example unbolt head and foot boards from bed frames or take mirror off dresser.


5. Remove fixtures that are attached or secured to your walls, such as bookcases, shelves, posters, and curtain rods.


6. Drain fuel from your power mower and other machinery.


7. When packing dishes separate them by placing styrofoam plates or wrap them individually in bubble wrap. Lable them "fragile".


8. After finishing packing of boxes indicate on them which room they should be delivered to.


9. Unplug electronic equipment and have all harnesses bundled and marked for clear reassembling.


10. Disconnect washing machine and refrigerator hoses.


11. Remove all items from your freezer and refrigerator.


12. Remove all your valuables, documents, and medications and keep them in your possession.


13. On moving day driveway and doorways to be clear and unobstructed.
